Metallica Confirmed For Nova Rock

Metallica will play at this summer's Nova Rock Festival in Austria. The festival takes place June 19th-21st. Read more at www.novarock.at.

Cliff Burton Biography To Be Released In June

The English journalist Joel McIver (who wrote the amazing Justice For All book) has recently finished the work of a biography of Cliff Burton. This is the first time ever the entire story of Cliff's life is published. McIver has interviewed people like Kirk Hammett, Fleming Rasmussen, Brian Slagel and loads of others. The book will be released in June but it can already be ordered at Amazon.

Metallica Finally In Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

Metallica will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in a ceremony happening April 4th. Three years ago Metallica performed at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction of Black Sabbath.

Metallica High On Lists Of Last Year's Most Successful Bands

Los Angeles Times reports that Metallica is on the 14th place on the list of which artists made most money during 2008. This is the income from sales of concert tickets, albums and digital downloads combined. According to LA Times, Metallica made $ 56.4 million during 2008. Number one on the list is Madonna. Metallica Will Play In Knebworth First Weekend Of August

As revealed earlier by Metallica Today, there will be a Metallica show in Knebworth, UK in the summer. It is now confirmed that this will take place the first weekend of August. I will get back with more details.

Lars Ulrich To Join Deep Purple Reunion?

Classic Rock Magazine reports that the legendary Mark III line-up of Deep Purple are planning a reunion. According to Classic Rock, David Coverdale, Glenn Hughes, Jon Lord and Ritchie Blackmore are up for the reunion. However, since drummer Ian Paice is in the current Deep Purple line-up they need a drummer. This is where Lars Ulrich comes in. Lars says: “If they need a drummer, David Coverdale has my number.”
However, Jon Lord has made a posting on his own webpage where he says he can't see a reunion without Ian Paice.

Death Magnetic 7th Most Sold Album During 2008

Billboard.com reports that "Death Magnetic" is the 7th most sold album in the US during 2008. The album has sold 1.57 million copies in the US alone. The most sold album during 2008 is Lil Wayne's "The Charter III".
